The Bonniebrook Project
Bonniebrook was the home of Rose O’ Neill, an American writer, illustrator, artist, best known for her Kewpie dolls. Rose and her family also loved nature and gardens. Rose was quoted to say about Bonniebrook, “I love this place better than anywhere on earth.” Over the years the gardens at Bonniebrook went by the wayside. Bonniebrook Historical Society reached out to the Master Gardeners of the Ozarks for guidance and so began the journey of “Bringing back the gardens to Bonniebrook.” We have accomplished much since stating the project but long to continue bringing back the beauty to the place where Rose called home.
Hours of Operation
Bonniebrook is opened from April 1st to October 31st Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9 to 4 for tours of the fine art museum and Rose’s home for a small donation. It is open to the public to come and walk or stroll the grounds to enjoy the peace and quiet all year seven days a week at no charge.
